THE BUSTIN’ CANCER TOUR REPORT

We originally set out to raise $3,000 for the American Cancer Society in 2025. But then Sony Pictures launched a charity challenge called Ghostbusters Give Back—and everything changed.

Here’s the deal: Ghostbusters chapters all over the country competed to raise money for their charity partners. The team that hit $50,000 (or more) won. On top of that, Sony Pictures matched every dollar raised—up to $250,000—to support the Starlight Children’s Foundation. That meant every dollar we raised went twice as far!

With that in mind, we upped our goal to $10,000. Sure, we wanted to hit the big $50K, but we also wanted to set a target we knew we could crush—and we did! For most of the competition, we were in the top 10. However, some of the larger national teams really did some phenomenal work. We finished 17th. Not bad for a competition that included hundreds of teams.

Now we are itching to outdo ourselves for this year’s competition. Our fundraising year runs June 1 to May 31, and if we hit $10K early, we’ll raise the bar again.
